Diesel H2
The Hummer H2 is an awesome rig. On and Off the road it has to be the most comfortable vehicle I have ridden and driven in. Off the road it is amazing. Its like it floats over rough terrain. The ONLY thing missing in this big beautiful tank is a diesel motor. If they put a duramax diesel motor in the Hummer H2, it would be a perfect vehicle. It would have a more reliable engine, more torque to do anything it needed, and unmatched fuel economy for such a large comfortable SUV.
There are a few shops in the US that solve these problems. A few men have taken it upon themselves to make the almost perfect on and offroad vehicle, perfect. Predator Motorsports in California specializes in converting the H1 and H2 Hummer's into fully Diesel machines. This means that they remove the stock engine, transmission and transfer case and replace it with the Duramax Diesel Engine, Allison Transmission and a heavy duty selectable 2-4WD transfer case. Whats more is that they do this with all new Duramax Diesel Engines and Allison Transmissions.
How long does it take? As quick as 4 days, and all the way up to 4 weeks. It just depends on the project. One of the added bonuses that I'm sure you will notice immediately is a fuel economy increase of up to 22 Miles Per Gallon. And if you are looking to add more power wether for show or...practicality, you can increase the power of the Duramax Diesel all the way up to 800HP and 1400Ft/Lbs of Torque. Pretty amazing considering the stock horsepower is 300.
This procedure is not cheap, but is well worth the investment to get a quality Diesel H2. If you have an H1 Hummer with the old GM 6.2/6.5L Diesel, then we also highly recommend this upgrade. The Duramax Diesel is a way better engine that will provide you with a lot more performance and reliability than the older GM Diesels. Find out what you have been missing out on all these years by putting the Duramax Diesel in your H1 or H2 Hummer.
